  • Returning to an active life after a cardiac event.

Cardiac Rehabilitation at AvistaCardiac Rehabilitation is specially designed to assist those recovering from a cardiac event in their transition back to their activities of daily living. We help patients reverse symptoms and maximize cardiac function through programs designed to meet each person's individual needs. The goal of Cardiac Rehabilitation is to help individuals return to the highest level of function and independence possible, while improving overall quality of life both physically and emotionally.

Avista Cardiac Rehabilitation patients have an assessment at the beginning of their program to establish risk factors for heart disease and develop an individual treatment plan. Participants have the opportunity to sign up for a one-on-one consultation with our dietician and/or stress management team. Patients also meet with an exercise physiologist who creates an exercise prescription based on physician’s guidance and personal goals and limitations.

During exercise sessions, patients are on continuous EKG monitoring while exercising on various exercise equipment. Blood pressures, oxygen levels, and when appropriate, blood sugar levels, are checked before, during and after each exercise session.
