    At Avista's New Life Birth Center, you can be assured that you and your baby are in the best of hands. Our birth center team will work with you to create a birth experience uniquely suited to you. So when you're ready to deliver, we are too.

    Our birth center offers:

    • A spacious, private birthing suite where you can stay for labor, deliver and recovery. Each birthing suite offers a private bath and sleeper sofa for your birth coach.
    • A well-baby nursery and a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staffed around the clock with neonatal nurse practitioners. Neonatologists and other specialists are also available if necessary.
    • Some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable doctors and nurses in Colorado.
    • Two dedicated OB surgical suites-available immediately if a C-section is necessary.
    • Room service.
    • 24-hour in-house anesthesia coverage.
    • OB physician in-house around the clock for immediate access.
    • Breastfeeding support services.
    • Birth classes.
    • Help acquiring birth certificate and social security number.
    • Special adoption support program.  

    You'll shape your birth experience by telling us what kinds of things are important to you. You'll decide:

    • The level of pain management, or whether you'd prefer a completely natural childbirth.
    • Who will be present with you at the birth.
    • Important family, cultural or spiritual traditions that you wish to honor.
    • Visiting hours for siblings, family and friends.
    • If you want your spouse or birth partner to stay overnight.

  • COEMIG AwardAvista Adventist Hospital holds the prestigious designation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and Surgical Review Corporation. The COEMIG program is focused on improving the safety and quality of gynecologic patient  care. Achieving COEMIG, places Avista as an international leader in minimally invasive gynecologic procedures. Compared to traditional surgery, patients who undergo minimally invasive procedures experience less pain, reduced blood loss, fewer complications and shorter hospital stays.
    The America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics scoring process is unique in that it is the only national list that is evidence-based and focuses on female patient satisfaction. Avista Adventist Hospital ranked above the national average for patient recommendations, as indicated by the data reported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) surveys. Additional considerations included: having a NICU on-site, low rates of early elective deliveries (between 0-1%) as well as ranking above the national average for patient safety.
    Womens Choice Award 2016Avista Adventist Hospital has received the 2015 Women’s Choice Award for being voted one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by women. This distinction is the only award that identifies the country’s best health care institutions based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction and what women say they want from a hospital including quality physician communications, responsiveness of nurses and support staff, cleanliness and trusted referrals from other women.
    IBCLC AwardAvista has received the IBCLC Care Award in recognition for staffing professionals who hold the prestigious International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® certification (IBCLC®) and providing a lactation program for breastfeeding families. In addition, the award recognizes the commitment of Avista Adventist Hospital’s New Life Center to activities that help protect, promote, and support breastfeeding.
    The Joint CommissionThe Gold Seal of Approval® from The Joint Commission for the Avista Adventist Hospital New Life Center by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety in normal delivery care.

    Avista Adventist Hospital earned the following Five-Star Recipient award from Healthgrades, the online resource that helps consumers search, compare and connect with physicians and hospitals:

    • Five-Star Recipient for Gynecologic Surgery in 2015

    Healthgrades awards are based on clinical outcomes that take into account risk-adjusted mortality and in-hospital complications. The annual performance evaluation encompasses some 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

    Avista Adventist Hospital’s New Life Program has been recognized as a Blue Distinction Plus Center by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for delivering maternity care safely, effectively and cost efficiently.
